Losing weight and getting in shape after 50 can be a bear, a big old grizzly bear, especially if you go it alone. Changes associated with aging (I'm looking at you, hormones!) make it harder to see results.

But, as someone who lost over 15 pounds after age 50, I'm here to tell you: you can do it, too!

In my 20+ years of experience, I found one major aspect made the biggest difference above all others in ensuring success: ACCOUNTABILITY.

It's much easier to lead a life of caloric debauchery and laziness when no one's watching. But tell someone they need to write down that bite of chocolate mousse cake and suddenly it's easier to put down the fork.

Put simply, when you're held accountable for your actions you're more likely to be on your best behavior.
